A Growing Concern
Gardening Together

Lake County has a high proportion of senior citizens, 30% and growing by significant levels each year. There aren’t sufficient government resources to meet the needs of senior centers and other non-profits that provide meal and vital services to the elderly, especially those in need. At a time when multiple year fire and flood emergencies have depleted county discretionary resources, senior centers and non-profits are struggling with no means to fund major facility repairs and cover operational expenses.

The Imperative

The Lake County Silver Foundation was formed by seniors for seniors with a goal to identify funding through grants, angel donations, and trust fund endowments.

The needs are great and growing. Some of our facilities require immediate attention with long overdue repairs.  Others would benefit from kitchen upgrades and improvements including more efficient heating and cooling systems.  Elder care, food insecurity, isolation and elder abuse are also growing problems that need funding support. The time to act is now.
