The Foundation was formed by Lake County seniors concerned about the status and
efficacy of the local senior centers and their service to seniors and to support non-profit
organizations that provide services to Lake County seniors. There are huge funding gaps for Senior Centers, most must raise about 50% of their operational budgets, the amount not covered by government support dollars.

The Foundation's fund raising efforts will also support non-profit entities that support senior & elder programs.  In Lake County, with a growing senior population, the needs are great.  Senior Centers cannot fulfill the diverse and growing needs of our senior population and many do not have the ability to get to the centers.  This is where non-profits dedicated to helping home-bound seniors as well as families dedicated to the care of their elders, often on a full-time basis, need our support.
