The Senior Summit is a project of the Lake County Silver Foundation, a newly formed Public Charity Organization, incorporated by the State of California with Federal and State tax exempt status. The Foundation was formed by Lake County seniors concerned about the status and efficacy of the local senior centers and their service to seniors and to support non-profit organizations that provide services to Lake County seniors. There are huge funding gaps for Senior Centers, most must raise about 50% of their operational budgets, the amount not covered by government support dollars.

The Foundation also serves to raise funds the year round for Center needs that exceed their ability to develop. For example, we can oversee donor dollars for special projects such as building upkeep or solar addition that lower electrical expenses, contract for audits, bookkeeping, special visits by support services, and adventure trips to enrich retirement lives. We are presently working on golf cart bird watching trips in the reclaimed Middle Creek Restoration area. We arrange bass fishing guided tours, pontoon boat days as prizes for drawings. Our seniors should have a continued sense of life’s adventure and a quest to stay healthy.

The Silver Foundation is a gratis operation run by seniors looking after seniors.
